Photodump: Historicon 2014

Another Historicon is gone and past. This year, I went Thursday - Saturday. I ran my Reconquest: Titan game on Thursday night, which was a huge hit. Friday was supposed to be a By Fire and Sword tournament, which really turned into a demo event - which was great because I got a few new people into it and drug an oldie back into it. Saturday I spent most of the day hanging out at the BFAS booth, helping give demos and just generally chilling. Met another die-hard BFAS enthusiast, Karl, whose dedication to the game makes mine look....miniscule.

Anyways, on with the photos. First, we have some pics of the All Quiet on the Martian Front booth.

And here's the By Fire and Sword booth. Well, at least the piles of product for sale.

Thursday night I ran Reconquest Titan. Some lessons learned - apparently people can sign up for your events in advance, but you're not notified of this.  Also, more people can sign up than you listed can play. So while the event was for four players, we had several dozen over the source of the night, with a solid dozen that played the entire time. Thanks to all that came out - hope you had fun!

Here's some random Napoleonic tables that was amazing. I almost tried to get into Napoleon at War this convention, but ended up with so much crap I bought or acquired that I couldn't justify bringing home more stuff.

Some pics of a 28mm WW1 game.

 Big WW2 beach landing game.

Some weird stuff at a Fanticide table.

On Friday, there was a BFAS tournament, but really it just ended up being some folks playing and learning the game. I kinda quit taking pictures of it early on. Thanks for Gamespoet for the game here, and then I conducted a demo game with Sean and Frank.

AoW ended up hosting this massive 20 player All Quiet on the Martian Front game several times throughout the weekend, on a gigantic table.

I have no clue what this is, but it looked cool.

More 28mm WW1.

Again, no clue what this was, but awesome.

I played a BFAS game with Karl at the BFAS booth on Saturday after running a few demos. Karl's a great cat from Missouri so hopefully I get a chance to play him again soon. He has one of the painted division level armies from the first Kickstarter, so he played 8 points of Poles vs my 8 pts of Swedish on a very small 2x2 demo board.

Things went....poorly...for the Swedish as you can see. But, had an absolute blast.

Then Karl set up a game with Konrad, and we found another demo board to make a weird 4x2 board. Konrad played Ottomans and Karl played his Polish.

I actually left before it was done, so I'm not sure how it ended up. There was a lot more Ottomans on the board than Polish, but it seemed the Polish were stemming the tide.

The freehand on the saddle pads on the Ottoman commander was just amazing.

And my pile of Historicon loot. Lots of Microarmor modern, BFAS figures, terrain for DZC and FoW, some random BA tanks, and some other bits and bobs.
